Cerrone Launch Supports Foundation
On Wednesday 12 May, renowned jeweller Carmela Cerrone launched her 2010 collection for Cerrone Jewellers at a special lunch in Sydney in support of the Ponting Foundation.
Held at Astral Restaurant and hosted by Rianna Ponting, guests were treated to a private viewing of Carmela’s latest collection, consisting of beaded necklaces and bracelets.
Many of the beautiful pieces feature an assortment of uniquely coloured gemstones including purple amethyst, topaz, citrine, amber, aquamarine and rose quartz. Each handmade piece in the collection was designed by Carmela Cerrone to highlight the many facets of each stone’s individuality and beauty.
Cerrone Jewellers started in a small terrace house in Leichhardt over 30 years ago by Nic Cerrone, after migrating to Australia when he was 12 years old. Today it has grown to encompass three retail stores in Sydney. His wife, Carmela, has also entered the business in recent years, designing her own collection including the pieces on display at the 12 May launch.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of pieces from Carmela’s collection will be donated the Ponting Foundation.
Guests of the special launch included Carmela and Nic Cerrone and television personalities Kerri-Anne Kennerley, Kylie Gillies, Sophie Faulkner and Sandra Sully.
