Ricky and Rianna Ponting met with Victorian Premier, Mr John Brumby, on 28 May to discuss opportunities for a collaborative partnership between Ponting Foundation and the State Government. The Foundation already has a successful relationship with the Tasmanian Government and the Foundation is keen to explore opportunities to work on a State-based project in Victoria.

The Victorian Government is a strong supporter of cancer-related issues and just last month committed $69 million to the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Clinic at the Austen Hospital and a further $55 million for a Regional Integrated Cancer Centre in Ballarat.

Ponting Foundation will continue discussions with Premier Brumby over the coming months with a view to securing additional support to help fight children’s cancer.
